The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a new way to receive support and services for people with a disability. The major reform is run by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA). It offers individualised and itemised funding for people with disabilities based on their specific needs and goals.

It depends on your location. A number of trial sites have been rolled out across the country, with the most notable region in Victoria being in Barwon. However, from 2018, a full national roll out is due, with completion scheduled for 2019. If you are unsure of when the NDIS will be available in your area, you can view the dates here.
